Best Of Haute Couture Week Spring 2018

One of the most exquisite weeks of the year, the Haute Couture one, has concluded and it left us dreaming with bows, lace, tulle, smokey eyes and enormous feather hats. But in case you have missed it, here is a brief review of the best shows.

Chanel Métiers d'Art 17/18 in Hamburg

Karl Lagerfeld chose Hamburg, his birthplace, to present the Collection des Métiers d'Art 17/18. It took place at the Elbphilharmonie and it was inspired by the old sailor suits that the Káiser combined with typical caps, woven garments, high-collared coats, shoes with silver ribbons, nautical accessories and bags, that imitate bandoneons and maritime containers. 

ES: Karl Lagerfeld escogió Hamburgo, su lugar de nacimiento, para presentar la colección Métiers d'Art 17/18 de Chanel. La misma tuvo lugar en la filarmónica de Elba y estuvo inspirada en los antiguos trajes marineros a los que el Káiser combinó con las gorras típicas, prendas tejidas, abrigos de cuello alto, zapatos con lazos plateados, accesorios náuticos y bolsos, que imitaban desde bandoneones hasta contenedores marítimos.

ES: La semana de la moda parisina ha llegado a su fin. La misma nos sobrepasó de distinguidas colecciones y como siempre, aquí está mi selección de lo mejor: desde la pasarela hasta la primera fila.

Fashion Week: London & Milan

MY PICKS Two more Fashion Weeks ended (can't believe how quick time passes) and this time, we saw from boho chic and the 50's to junk-food-inspired-attires. I liked many pieces but the biggest prize goes to Jil Sander's collection seen at Milan and being my favourite of them all. Androgynous plain coats with a sporty-masculine-vibe paired up with boots and platform shoes filled up the runway, while more feminine skirts and beaded dresses followed them at the end. To keep on with the simplicity of the clothes the models wore their hair and makeup very natural and, apart from some satchels, no accessories were seen. Minimalism was key.

But not all the applauses go just to Sander, below are my top ten favourites from both fashion capitals.

ES: Otras dos Fashion Weeks han terminado - no puedo creer lo rápido que pasa el tiempo- y esta vez vimos desde el boho chic y los 50 hasta prendas inspiradas en comida chatarra. Varias de ellas me han gustado pero el premio mayor va para la colección de Jil Sander presentada en Milán, siendo de todas mi preferida. Los abrigos de tipo andróginos con un aire sport y masculino combinados con botas y zapatos de plataforma llenaron la pasarela, mientras que faldas y hermosos vestidos les siguieron al final. Para continuar con la simplicidad de las prendas las modelos llevaron el cabello y maquillaje natural y, a excepción de algunos satchels, no hubo accesorios. El minimalismo fue clave.

Pero no todos los aplausos son para Sander, abajo les dejo mi top ten de ambas semanas de la moda.

Best Of New York Fashion Week

MY PICKS New York fashion week is officially over and now all eyes are on London, however, I still can't keep my mind off of my favourite shows from the Big Apple, being my best-liked the one by Mrs Beckham. 

ES: La Fashion Week de Nueva York está oficialmente terminada y ahora todas las miradas están puestas en Londres, sin embargo, no puedo sacar de mi mente algunas de mis prendas y accesorios que más me gustaron de los desfiles de la Gran Manzana, siendo mi favorito el de Mrs. Beckham.
